Artist History
Spitfire was created in February of 1996. Spitfire was originally a three piece band consisting of Matt Beck on guitar and vocals, Chris Raines on drums, and Jimmy Reeves on bass. Spitfire released its first E.P. CD called "Straining Toward What's to Come" in the summer of 1997 on 2Jake Records. After a bunch of compilation CD's and a couple tours spitfire signed a record deal with Solidstate Records. Spitfire released their first record on Solidstate Records in 1999 entitled "the Dead Next Door". The record was recorded at Trax East in New Jersey by Steve Evetts (the dillinger escape plan, Snapcase, Hatebreed). Spitfire is now on its second lineup and is now a four piece band consisting of original members Chris Raines, Jimmy Reeves, Matt Beck and singer Jon Spencer. In the winter of 2001 Spitfire will be writing and recording new material for "The Slideshow Whiplash EP." Spitfire's new ep "The Slideshow Whiplash EP" is available everywhere from Goodfellow Recods. |

Press Reviews
"Ten unbelievably energetic hardcore punk/speed core metal with screaming vocals...the insane music was cool and addicting. This is for you if you like it fast and noisy." - Jersey Beat #65 (Denis Sheehan) |
