Artist description
The indomitable music of the five men of SHOCKPLATE mirrors the attitude of the Southeastern city they call home. Like Atlanta, they have chosen not to whine or weep about the burning scars afflicted upon them by the past. Instead, like all citizens of their metropolis, the members of SP use that past and revel in the present's complexity, celebrating the dark side-by-side with the light, channeling hate and happiness into a heavy maelstrom of both defiance and hope. The SP turbulence, fueled by harmonious vocals, gothic keys, molten guitars and groundbreaking drumwork, pounds the stages and airwaves of the 40 Watt, 9 Lives Saloon, Dark Horse Tavern (10 High), Masquerade, Breakers, CJ's Landing, The Riviera, 91.1 WREK, 91.9 WLJS and other regional clubs and radio stations-the venues and outlets for the overcoming, revolution, and rage of their sound. And each SHOCKPLATE song, like the face of every Atlantan, captures a moment, an image, or nuance of time to be shared with those who dare to understand. And as Atlanta represents the cultured soul of the New South, so too does SHOCKPLATE represent a new genre of New South Music: Intelligent Heavy Metal.
Give an ear.
SP will sew it back on.
