Press Reviews
DOUBLE J, X-FM 101.1 (commercial rock station in Ottawa, Canada) « A great Canadian band that's also a local band. Angers, PQ is home to a real solid group. When I first got a hold of their disc, I was worried. No slick liner art or notes or glossy photos. Then for no good reason, (I must've been high...) I started thinking of Chris Farley selling the brake pads in Tommy Boy. -- I could box up a piece of turd, package it up and put my name on it, but wouldn't you rather stick your head up the butcher's ass and take his word for it. -- The point is the music is what sells it. Great songwriting and lyrical content over top of potent alt/electronic rock. It's so easy to make bad electronica-style rock. Naked Spoon is serious about their sound and it shows. Hearing fine rock music blend with good electronica music is always a must listen. They have an almost God Lives Underwater type thing going on. » ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's another CD REVIEW of our music, this one by the youth E-zine UPATH.COM: « My initial response when we received Naked Spoon's five-track EP disk was a sense of dread. If the packaging wasto say anything (no liner notes, burned disk, business card) it certainly wouldn't be to speak very highly of its content. I can safely say I was more than pleasantly surprised at the polished alt/electronic rock that came out of my stereo tonight. The Kraftwerk-esque beats on the opener track "Wherever I Go" certainly put me in a good mood. All this electronic sound and not a sampler in sight! What a novel thought. Local boys do good. » (www.upath.com) |
