Artist description
Lidlifter is a four-piece band from the Springfield, Illinois area. They can be described as so many different genres that their sound is hard to portray. Groove based drum work and funk inspired bass lines work together to lay the canvas for metal edged chunky guitars. With vocal work lunging from soulfully warm and powerful to rhythmically intoxicating lines of rap influenced chaos. Their energetic in-your-face stage show has attracted an enthusiastic audience to date. Formed in September 1998, Lidlifter consists of three former members of Freakshow: Scott House (guitar), Shane Osterholt (bass) and Dennis Sheedy (drums) and former vocalist/frontman from Sixteenfive Scott Lecocq. Both bands were popular acts in the Central Illinois region during the mid nineties. After spending the last several months writing, rehearsing and performing, Lidlifter is ready to take their brand of high-energy heavy groove-oriented rock to the next level and join the ranks of many others already a part of this revolutionary musical movement. Currently, Lidlifter is promoting a new demo, which was released in the summer of ‘99. Meant to be a demo, the band hadn’t anticipated such a demand for a product and is selling them as fast as they get them. Lidlifter is also booking live shows and playing extensively throughout the region as well as the central Illinois area. |
