    Press Reviews
Diablerie got a surprising result in its first EP. An independent work, with high level as this, is not something easy to find. Professional production and qualified musicianship, in a band with only two permanent members, vocalist Lord Arthur and guitarist/bassist Del Nunzio. As guests on the three tracks presented here, appear Marcell Cardoso (from Karma) on drums and Fabrizio DiSarno (Karma/Angra) on keyboards. Both with superb playing giving the necessary support to the good rendition of the excellent compositions by Arthur and Del Nunzio. The style isn't easy to define, e make a parallel with another bands would be silliness, would create a not real reference, not trustable. It's not the traditional black metal, but there are characteristics from it. It's still more distant from power metal, although there are references from this style. It also doesn't go by the neoclassical way, but there are hints from it in some solos very typical from this slope. It's better to talk about well played and technical music, going through different metallic paths, and with capacity not to please all greeks and troyans, but, surely, to a good part of them. Diablerie is one of the big candidates to be a future highlight, as much in the Brazilian market as in other continents. Talent and profissionalism are in abundance. The only things lacking are opportunities and investiment from persons outside the group. (Thiago Correa - Whiplash Webzine) The year of 1998 marked the beggining of the band Diablerie, from São Paulo, which have passed by many line-up changes, getting stabilized with only two members, Del Nunzio (guitar) and Lord Arthur (vocals). In these three years on the road, the band already recorded the demo-tape "The Price Of Eternity Part I: The House Tremere", with good reviews on magazines in Brazil and other countries and which led to the participation on Demise Records' compilation "The Winds Of A New Millenium Vol. 3". In this new release, as guests for the recording, appear drummer Marcell Cardoso and keyboardist Fabrizio DiSarno, both from the band Karma. "The Breach Of The Masquerade" has three excellent tracks, "Hecatomb", "The Price Of Eternity Part II: Diablerie" and "Nocturnal Survivor", all presenting a "crossover" between Black Metal and Power Metal, generating parts more technical and melodic sections. In some moments, Diablerie reminds us of bands like Children Of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir(recent) and Morgul (also from more recent albums). It's also neccessary to emphasize the very good recording quality on the three tracks, credited as a production of Contato Studios, in São Paulo. Even with the excellent material, the band must be adverted that there is another Diablerie, from Finalnd, and which is releasing its debut album, "Seraphyde". Be careful to not have problems with the name!. (Ricardo Campos - Roadie Crew Magazine - No. 33) Very good this kind of Black Metal inspired in Vampire RPG. The Demo-CD "The Breach Of The Masquerade" is very well composed, with things reminding Dimmu Borgir here and there. We can also note some gothic elements, placed in a very intelligent mode, and giving an incredible final touch to the musics. A special highlight is the very beautiful "The Price Of Eternity", a true epic. The band is leadered by vocalist Lord Arthur and guitarist/bassist Del Nunzio, and completed by keyboardist Fabrizio DiSarno and drummer Marcell Cardoso. (Fernando Souza Filho - Rock Brigade Magazine - No. 183 - October/2001) "Best promise of Brazilian Melodic Black Metal, with tradicional HM riffs and great vocals!" (RMF - Strike Virtual Metal Magazine) What should I say about a band that puts together two of my biggest passions ? That's exactly what Diablerie does, first class music in a perfectly conciliated conjunction of RPG and Heavy Metal. The musical style is nearer to Black Metal, but some aspects nearer to traditional Heavy Metal and the classical influence is also clear. With three songs, "Hecatomb", "The Price Of Eternity Part II: Diablerie" (the best on the CD) and "Nocturnal Survivor", inspired in the RPG "Vampire - The Masquerade", the demo-CD "The Breach Of The Masquerade" is the perfect soundtrack to any RPG match searching the "Personal Horror", and even more if the history is related to the Tremere...("A mystical eye opened in his forehead / Which through the pain cursed Tremere / Saulot's eye was staring at him / Even in his death" - from "The Price Of Eternity Part II"). But, due to the musical merits, it's also recomendable to the non initiated (in the RPG, of course...). Obrigatory to any headbanger, rpg player or vampire with self respect. (Fábio G. Carvalho - Choose Your Side Zine - No. 6) "Ah! I'm Brazilian!" - that's what Brazilian people screamed, when it's soccer team was doing fine, isn't it ? Well, when I heard Diablerie's demo-CD I wanted again to sing it...The band from Sao Paulo is formed by: Lord Arthur (V), Del Nunzio (G/B), Marcell Cardoso (D) and Fabrizio DiSarno (K) plays great Black Metal, with aggressive vocals, a show of really heavy riffs and fast and technical drums. It's worth a mention the backing vocals, in a kind of gothic style, what leaves the sound with a special charm. This demo-CD has three tracks: "Hecatomb" (great drums and ultra-heavy guitars), "Nocturnal Survivor" (the vocalist has a great performance in it, and it is characterized by having some gothic touches. Very good!), and "The Price Of Eternity Part II: Diablerie" (the best on the CD, all the band is great). If you like a good Black Metal, but full of technic, Diablerie is recommended! Rating: 9,0 (Ricardo Wrathman - Brazil Metal Law Webzine)
