    Press Reviews
Zozzy of THE INDEPENDANT MUSICIANS COOPERATIVE SAID:Abor Essence sets up a straight 'n smooth groove which creates the base from which they take us on their exploration of the 'sounds of the universe'. There's a solid feel to this track that is lacking in many similiar offerings in the genre. Though it may not break many boundaries it creates a mood and maintains it throughout the whole six 1/2 minutes without drifting from hypnotic to monotonous.I was about to mention that some of the drum sounds (especially the electro-toms) seem a little dated for this style of music but then realized it's a refreshing change from the purely software-based sound that one hears too much of.I'm pretty sure I can hear that old workhorse, the Korg Wavestation in there - tastefully used I might add. The mix is clear & well-spaced, the levels just right (though I'd guess the bass might overwhelm a little on some systems) and comfortable on the ears.Fans of Salt Tank, Orbital & System 7 should find the right vibe in here.Summary: A solid, stable track though a bit more rhythmic experimentation could give it that certain edge.
