Artist description
Imagine a stage show to rival that of NSYNC - flying projectiles and dance moves that leave the ladies shuddering. Then strip away all the stadiums and speakers and you're left with Nathan Johnson - a man with a big enough vocabulary to take on Eminem and enough manufactured personalities to fill a years worth of Teeny-Bop Magazine. Nathan comes out swinging and most people usually just back off. Or they never get there to begin with... because thats one of the things that we mentioned earlier is that you've got to remove the stadiums from the equation. But if Nathan did play in stadiums, he would have the opportunity to come out swinging. Right now he mostly just plays his acoustic guitar in ways that have been described as (not very) "radiofriendly". |

Sort of like the guitar work of Dave Matthews, the songwriting of Elliott Smith, Radiohead's weirdness and Paul Simon's lyrical style. Some also say Phish, probably for their antics & storytelling. |

Artist History
In the fourth grade, Nathan confidently assured his father that breakdancing would never die. Unfortunately, this statement would eventually prove to be false, but as long as Johnson lives, the dance will go on. One of the earliest indications that Nathan would be famous was his breakdancing exhibition for his elementary school. Following this, Johnson pursued other interests including art and three-legged racing however he eventually returned to the dance floor in junior high school. Dressed in Hammer Pants and loafers, Nathan participated in one of the legendary "inner-circles". The movemenet of life continued to flow strongly through the youngster and as he entered high school he turned his attention to visual movement through videography... "the dance through film" if you will. Now, though there aren't really any songs on his album that you could "dance to", per se, they are really good for listening to while you're thinking... or working on algebra, or whatever. And if you imagined that they had some nice techno jungle beats, well, then you're already seeing the world behind the world and you've got the movement of life in your veins anyway.(For continued reading material on "The Dance", see Michael Jackson's short essay in the liner notes from the album Dangerous). |
