Artist description
The Marriott Jazz Quintet is a hard-swinging, high energy band committed to expressing jazz in all its forms. Featuring the talents of brothers David (trombone) and Thomas Marriott (trumpet), John Hansen (piano), Geoff Harper (bass), and Jon Wikan (drums), the band's repertoire ranges from bebop to ballads, adding the flavor of original compositions to round out the group's sound. In the tradition of the small bands led by Freddie Hubbard, J.J. Johnson, and Wynton Marsalis, the group's attitude stems from their common appreciation for swing, tradition, and fun. |

The quintet's current lineup, as featured on its new CD, "The High Country," includes John Hansen (piano), Geoff Harper (bass) and Jon Wikan (drums). |
