Artist description
It isn't easy describing the SoundPoets because this Canadian band just can't be categorized. A little pop, a little rock, sprinkle in some classical and traditional sounds and finally, top it off with a pinch of spirituality and you might come close. Extremely appealing, their songs range dramatically from the middle Eastern feel in 'Waterfall' to the Beatles-like 'Only Human' to the unforgettable 'Gotta Give' to the out and out sax rock of 'Boomerang'. Entrancing vocals that range from an intimate whisper to a commanding belt, in the span of seconds, have left many an audience awestruck. In fact, one of the most common remarks has been "such a huge voice for such a small person!" Equally awe-inspiring is the superb musicianship both in the studio and on the stage. Intricate guitar work and meticulous bass playing have become signature for this band. Attending just one performance is all one needs to know that this band is truly a master at its art. Memorable melodies, infectious hooks and pleasing harmonies make this band one of the most undiscovered talents this year. Who knows, the year is still young! |
