Artist History
Really formed as such in 1999, tonecluster has been around a while (as 'rubenstein'), producing instrumental music for documentaries and television promotional campaigns. In early 1999, music was recorded just for the pleasure of listening, without a purpose other than the joy of the music itself. Instead of the piano-based music of his earlier efforts, the music under the tonecluster name is more electronic, and space-like, influenced by the classic electronica of the 70's and early 80's. |

Press Reviews
The tonecluster project delivers an eerily-real otherworld of sounds, punctuated by grooves that are more Red-Shoe Diaries than ambient. "Nevermind the blurry starlit landscapes, oceanscapes, and weirdscapes, the real treat is when the drums kick in and we're transported into one hell of a sensual film. Close your eyes, its much better than HBO."*****"Its great to swim to" (Fright-X magazine).***** |
