Artist History
The story of curfew began in April -99.
Before that date the present members Henrik Falsin, Sara Engstrom, Martin Hammarstrom, Henrik Nilsson and Johan Gross played in different bands.
Some four months earlier, around the time of New Years Eve of -99, Henrik Falsin, Sara Engstrom and the drummer at the time, Torbjorn Blomgren, talked about starting a new band. We did however not have a bassplayer, and we were searching for a man for the job. Looking through an old schoolcatalogue, we found Martin Hammarstrom wearing a Marshall T-shirt, gave him a call, and that setup became the first curfew.
We started writing our own songs and got a lot of gigs, among which one was a big rock competition in Stockholm that we ended up winning.
At that time, Sara Engstrom was playing the keyboards, but she got tired of that due to the fact that she couldn´t move around as much as she wanted to on stage during gigs, and she also wanted to focus more on the singing part of her performance.
Therefore, Henrik´s older brother Johan Falsin played the keyboards on stage during our gigs in the spring of 2000, but he moved out of town at the end of the summer, leaving the keyboard spot open, and a new keyboardplayer was found in Henrik Nilsson.
During the autumn of 2000, the band took a break while the male members were doing their military service, after which the drummer Torbjorn Blomgren decided to go study in England, and therefore left the group.
Now, finished with our military service, we are back on track, with a brand new promo CD recently played in one of Stockholms greatests radiostations, and with Johan Gross as our new drummer.
Over the years, we have gotten many compliments regarding our talent, improvement and appearance on stage. This is all probably because we, exept rehearsing at least 4 times a week, put down a lot of time in our band curfew.
