Press Reviews
Leo Alli has won his first prize as a song writter at the age of 17, back in 1981.It was a hard time for his country, still under a military dictatorship, and music washis cry for freedom. Since that time he heasn't stopped writting new songs but he hadn't planned to become a professional musician. In 1996 he felt that he could no longer avoid his destiny and decided to release some of his songs in a CD.Recorded in 1997 and released in 1998 with only 2,000 copies, the CD "Presente" is a collector's piece.Rejecting the Brazilian system of "pay-to-play" imposed by commercial radios and television programas, Leo Alli has made few concertsbut he's gained respect from his public and from other musicians for the quality of his songs and his lirycs. |
