Artist description
Dark postpunk with a sound that falls somewhere between the Batcave, dark experimental New York no-wave, the many creative bands coming out of Dublin in the early 80's, with elements of new wave, and trashy glam rock (such as the New York Dolls).
Not so much gloomy and spooky, more manic and disjointed, Wailing Wall hold on to the ambience and theatrical nature of bands like Bauhaus, without succumbing to excesses which distract from what they do best, write and perform good songs.

Artist History
Wailing Wall formed in mid-1989, played their first show in '91, and has shared the stage with many great bands, including: Gene Loves Jezebel, Human Drama, Babylonian Tiles, The Last Dance, and Saviour Machine. More history of our distant past could be written, and at some point probably will be. But for now Wailing Wall will continue frightening the parents, writing great music, and peeling the paint off many a club. |
