Artist History
Tim is a melodic punk rock band that formed in 1996 in Victoria, BC. They took the scene by storm, gaining a strong fan base in that city and performing as the opening act for such bands as No Use For A Name, Hi-Standard, Furnaceface, The Hanson Brothers, and Face to Face.
In 1998 tim began working with the Langley, BC based independent record label, Spawner Records, owned and operated by Kyle Richardson. Tim released songs on numerous Spawner Records compilations, including: Flaming Cow Disease (1998), Homeless in BC 2 (1998), the Give Us a Break series (2000-2003), and Let's Hope These are Radio Friendly series, (1999-2003).
In 1999 the entire band relocated to Vancouver, where they are currently based. They began introducing themselves to the Vancouver scene, but at that time, they were focused on releasing their first full-length album. After over a year of writing and recording, Tim's first full-length album, "Test Pattern" was released in November 2000 on Spawner Records (catalog number SPN016). Spawner Records deals with FAB Distribution, based in Quebec, and put "Test Pattern" in A&B Sound stores across Canada. "Test Pattern" met with great reviews in the punk rock community and is still going strong. Recently, "Test Pattern" was released in the U.S. distributed by Revelation Records. In 2002 Spawner Records released two new compilations: Let's Hope These Are Radio Friendly Too, and Give Us A Break 3, (the latter being given away for free at many stops of the Vans Warped Tour 2002). Both compilations feature brand new tracks from Tim. Tim’s second full-length album, ”Chasing the Daydream”, was released on Spawner Records (SPN027) in March 2003. It was recorded at Rec-Age Recorders, October/November, 2002, with Nolan Gendron and Jesse Gander. Tim will also be featured on the next New School Records Compilation CD, titled “A Day In The Life Of”. Tim is currently writing songs for their next full-length album, due out in March of 2004. They will be recording at Greenhouse Studios, with producers Todd Kerns and Juice.
Tim has toured western Canada numerous times with such bands as "Complete", "thejohnsons", and "Glasshead". In the summer of 2001, they did a cross Canada tour that consisted of 27 shows in 30 days, including a spot at the "Exofest" in Quebec City. Last year, Tim performed at the Vancouver stop of the Vans Warped Tour 2002, as part of Ernie Ball’s Battle of The Bands 6, on the "Kevin Says" stage. Tim also performed at Slam City Jam this year in Vancouver, BC, with “Bad Religion”, May 3rd, 2003. The next tour will happen November 5th to 16th, 2003, down the west coast of the U.S.
Tim is sponsored by “Etnies”, through “Time Bomb Trading”, and “Ink Bomb Tattoos”. Both businesses are based in Vancouver, BC.
