Artist description "The struggle is to try to write music that is new and does something special, yet to try to have fun by avoiding being too critical." Proudentall is a rock band from Kansas City, MO. They officially formed as a four-piece in May of 1996 but have since remained a three-piece after second guitarist, Clay Zimmerman, left Kansas City for college. The band recorded a seven song demo tape at Egoless Recordings in Lawrence, Kansas July of 1996. There were only about 60 tapes ever made, and most of those were given away or sold at shows for $1.00. The band played their first show at the Daily Grind, now defunct, in June of that same year with The Get Up Kids, Boys Life, and Karate. Other shows soon followed with Giants Chair, Boilermaker, Pee, Karl Hendricks Trio,and Uncrush.In winter of 1996, Proudentall, still with second guitarist Clay Zimmerman on board, recorded another five song demo at Egoless. With two of these songs, they self-released a 7" record the following March. One less member and a few scattered singles later, the band find themselves ready to embark on a new journey; one that will surely remind us that "rock"is still alive and breathing in the independent music world.
