Artist History
Composer Paul Anthony Romero was classically trained at three of the world's leading music conservatories: The Curtis Institute of Music (alma-mater of musical giants Leonard Bernstein and Samuel Barber), the Paris Conservatoire, and London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The recipient of the 1999 BMI-Jerry Goldsmith Film Composers award brought Mr. Romero national attention as a film composer. Mr. Romero has composed the medieval score to Academy Award-winning director Alfonso Arau's "Silent France", due to broadcast on the Discovery Channel this year. Mr. Romero is currently scoring Arau's upcoming "Cortez" as well. Three independent movies with scores by Romero are awaiting release. Romero created the symphonic, operatic, and choral scores for New World Computing's internationally best-selling CD-rom game series, "Heroes of Might and Magic". With millions of copies sold aound the world, Mr. Romero has enjoyed rave reviews for the scores from the international press and legions of new fans. Romero has composed two operas, two piano concerti, and chamber music. His compositions have been performed on some of the world's great concert stages including the Kennedy Center, the United Nations General Assembly Hall, Tokyo's Bukka-kan, London's Wigmore Hall, the Jeux de Paum in Paris, and at festivals around the world. Paul has also worked with rock band Red Delicious on their CD Emotional Blur, providing exceptional string arrangements on the album. |
