Artist description
Over It started out as four best friends and today still are four best friends. For the past three years they have been gracing us with heartfelt melodic punk rock with such vigor that when listening to them, the beat in your chest soon begins to rush with the thrust of the music. With the addition of a new singer in 1998, over it have begun to emerge and become a defining force for the shape of punk to come. With a noticably East Coast sound, over it have perfected a style which has been developing in the East resulting from combination of the fervency of the West Coast and the majestic power of the "new rock bands" like Hot Water Music, the Jazz June, the Get Up Kids, and Piebald. To see it is to believe it and over it deliver their unique sound live as impressively as recorded. |

Press Reviews
Now here is an album I'm fucking stoked about! Since its arrival from the PO Box into my hands, this hasn’t left my CD player. Amazing pop-punk/emo with all of the emphatic and catchy qualities that make songs memorable.I’m eager to see where these Virginia boys are headed from here. Do yourself justice. Buy this record! Hearing this new talent from Virginia, signed to the upcoming Negative Progression Records label, staggered me like when I first heard the Ataris or Fenix TX. This was one of those rare moments when you discover a new band that you just know you'll follow for the rest of your punkrock-life.This music comes pretty close to the new (Dennis-)Ten Foot Pole, you know, fast paced melodic punkrock with extremely clean, high pitched vocals and the best tempo changes. Frankly, this band easily surpasses Ten Foot Pole. Moreover these great tunes are supplied with awesome lyrics like those of the Ataris or A New Found Glory, so, 'it's all about the girls'. I gotta hand it to these kids, they take the dead horse of heartfelt melodic punk rock and breathe a little life into it. While sounding like sweet cherries, Over It thunder their way through an EP with style and grace, breaking it up with emo-y breakdowns. |
