Artist History Last Kid Picked, of Annapolis, Maryland, is a band that wants to use their God-given talents for His glory. They are whole-heartedly committed to using their music as a ministry tool to reach those who are searching for a meaning to this life. In the fall of 1998, Tim and Bryan began writing music together, with the hope and vision of starting a band. Through the end of the year and into 1999, they continued writing and practicing together. Their friend Nate began playing the drums, while Bryan took on the roll of bass guitar and Tim played guitar. The trio practiced together for a few weeks leading up to that fateful day when Nate went on a trip to the Zoo. After slipping on an ice cream sandwich wrapper and hitting his head, Nate awoke with amnesia. He wondered aimlessly around the zoo for weeks until embraced by a family of gorillas and adopted as their son. He is on exhibit at the Baltimore Zoo and visitors comment that he is looking more like his mother every day. At then end of June, Tim and Bryan began playing with their friend Matt on drums. The first practices were rough, but as Matt (and his short attention span) began to learn the songs, things started to fall into place. Things progressed and they continued to write music together. As the weeks went by, the three began to search for a bass player with the plan for Bryan to move to guitar, in order to make their sound fuller. They had a few practices with Old Man Chris, their bassist friend. However, Chris's old age prevented him from living up to his full potential, and he now spends his days in a nursing home. No seriously, he does. The search for the bass player ended in late July. Their very first practice with Jer convinced the three that they had found the one, and the band was finally complete. With their good friend Josh as their manager, they began to book shows. Since then Last Kid Picked has been playing shows and festivals, writing new music, and spending time in the studio. They recently spent a week leading worship for a Jr. High youth camp, consisting of over 400 campers. The band continues to be searching for God's will for them, eagerly awaiting the plans He has in store.
