Artist History
The Environmental Avengers is a Washington DC based band that features guitar-oriented rock. EA formed in late '98 when guitarist Charles Tamulonis and singer Greg Stapleton decided to get together for a jam session. After a few sessions, they volunteered their talent to help raise money for a local charity. Given that experience, they decided to write their own songs. In June '99, they began recording tracks for Not In Our Forest! , a diverse mix of songs that range from pop rock to heavy metal. They released their album in late February 2000. |

Group Members
Greg Stapleton, the lead singer, began singing during his daily commute to and from school. He attributes his singing talent to a loud car stereo and long commutes. Greg also wails on the guitar, plays keyboards, drinks too much coffee, and techno-beats everything to death. Charles Tamulonis, the lead guitarist, began playing guitar at age 4 when he strung a series a rubber bands across a cardboard box. In Ecuador,he spent three years of his life wandering the rainforest looking for the perfect rubber tree. Charles stumbled into a wonderful friendship with Pablo Alvarado, who contributed to "We, We Are", "Deadman", and "An Ordinary Day (The Elephant Song)", which was kind of funny, since no days in Ecuador were ordinary, and unfortunately all the elephants were hiding. Since then, he's learned to play scales, even really hard ones. Charles also sings, plays bass, skips breakfast, begs Christine to help him on the keyboards, and programs the EVIL drum machine. |
