Press Reviews
In an age where trash talking street wise hip hop artists, and self indulgent rap/rock hybrids seem to rule the musical landscape, it is indeed refreshing to discover an artist like Daniel Waite.I remember the first time I ever heard a Daniel Waite song.......it was Melodee's Song........and I also remember immediately thinking what a great songwriter this guy is.His is a classic style of composing that can be identified in many legendary recording artists sounds.I know this may sound a little silly, but the artist I compare Daniel more closely to than any other is Tom Waits.Get it........Daniel Waite........Tom Waits. This is not meant to be a joke though.I find the same kind of heart, strength, and vulnerability in Daniel Waite's music that I also find in Tom Waits vast body of acclaimed work.I absolutely feel this is a fair comparison. If "Melodee's Song" doesn't hook you, another one of Daniel's cuts will. That's the kind of CD "Warm Rain" is, you can count on it.Erik Albrektsen"Erik's Eclectic Mix" |
