Artist description
This Portland five-piece performs danceable music that is smart, mature, and lyrically complex, drawing on a wide range of musical styles spanning every decade of the 20th Century -- with a post-alternative edge. The sound can be haunting, deafening or Get-Up-Get-Happy, shaped by the blues-influenced vocal stylings of the female lead singer or, the other half of the time, the Violent Femmes-influenced crooning of the male lead. Members of the band describe themselves as young enough to still be angry at The Man, but old enough to know when to shut up and start practicing. |
