Artist History
Our first time playing out, we got thrown out of L'amours in Brooklyn at a Battle of the Bands try-out because we were supposedly too fast and too loud. Had the good fortune of getting to warm up for Motorhead at a local club, which seized the attention of Combat Records. Combat Records forced us to change our name to NAPALM, which we regret to this day. We broke up shortly after our Combat Boot Camp EP was released, right after we played our final gig at CBGB's. We were together for one short year. UPDATE July 7th, 2002: COMBAT is back with new bassist/vocalist. IT AIN'T OVER YET!!! |

Press Reviews
Combat: Live Battle at Lamour 2002 CD review.........
Combat is a guitar driven metal band from the East Coast that will rip the paint off walls of any place they play. Their three song live demo plus one studio track displays what guitar driven heavy metal sounds like. "Mind Melt" is a medium paced number that chugs along with some great guitar riffing and in your face vocals. The main lead in the track is real cool and has some nice harmonic minor touches. Song two "Early Grave" belts out into some heavy riffing, and don't you even dare miss the trem bar filled intro that just reminds you of all out war. The song moves along very well and you'll definatly be headbanging! "Shake it Off" has a fast guitar riff, and Slayer like vocals. I also dug the intenese double bass drum playing. The song is definately Megadeth meets Slayer kinda track. What a combo eh? Well if your into head banging heavy metal then you better check out this band. They are keeping the flag flying for this genre of metal. Got thrash? Lastly, "Mind Melt" (Studio 1985) is a studio version of the track earlier discussed. It was cool hearing the two and being able to listen for differences. So trash heads, if your looking for something that will get your blood pumping and head banging, check out this CD! - Nick Martinelli (The Shred Zone: www.theshredzone.com)
