Artist History
Formed in 1997, and originally called Cemetery Children, Boi Creature Diversion was the end result of eastern Michigan bands such as The Young And The Useless, Shokk, and the early ruins of Carpet. Boi Creature found some of the band experiences a bit annoying and went to work in the studio, solo. K.E. Owen and Boi Creature took musical influences of their past, combined some music they'd been hiding for years, and added a dash of synth and sampler assistance to get the current sound, which departs from Cemetery Children's more straightforward goth sound with a deep ambient/trance flair. Boi Creature Diversion has a deep appreciation for old school goth and "angst music", but ultimately harkens back to the Detroit Industrial sound, and groups like Final Cut, Front 242, Skinny Puppy, Aphex Twin, and Lords of Acid sound, and pays deep homage to Ziggy Stardust, Roxy Music, The Damned, and even Placebo in their look. The first CD- "The Fiction Machine" was released in early 2001 to some acclaim. The band's second CD, "Bosey" became available in early 2001, and the newest CD "Zero; Nearly Complete BCD" is a compilation of most of the bands work as Boi Creature Diversion. The band has gone through changes over the years, and are on a short hiatus while they work on new material figure just what to do next. |
