Artist History
Although two of the members, Roland Hildebrand and Alexander Kirmayr, have been old fellows since the 1980th the actual birth of the Ballroom Pilots was in 1997 after they'd slowly recoverd from the Crunch desaster of the 1990th. The instrumentation then was Alexander Kirmayr (gui, voc), RolandHildebrand (bs) and Thomas Hecht (dr). Unsatisfied with the concurrent activity of playing the guitar and singing Alexander decided to recruit extraordinary German Metal shouter Jockel Kubus. Having a lot of trouble finding the right name for the band Thomas Hecht came up with 'Ballroom Pilots' which satisfied most of the band members. In 1999 the band went to the studio to record their first Album 'Ballroom Pilots'. The CD is an independent release and includes eight songs of classic 80th Metal. |
