Artist History
Wedgee's founding members, brothers from Virginia Beach, moved to Florida and quickly picked up their bass player and keyboardist through an appearance on MTV in 1997. A year later, Wedgee won Spin Magazine & Geocities Best Unsigned Band Contest, spurned on by critical acclaim of their album "Radio Ready". 1999 was even better: After an appearance at Sunfest, the nation's largest waterfront festival, before 20,000 people, Wedgee then won VH1's Big Break Unsigned Band Contest and warmed up for John Mellencamp. In all, Wedgee has performed with around 50 major national acts, including Hootie & the Blowfish and Third Eye Blind. |
