    Artist History
TRANSAUDIO formed in Glasgow in 1998 with a demented quest for the perfect melding of traditional guitars with sequences/samples. After almost four years of writing, recording and performing, Transaudio have honed their indie/dance/rock music towards their high-octane 'techno-rock' ideal. Their first (self-financed) single was issued in 1998, featured 'Unique', 'Memory Lies' and 'Faithless'. This brought them to the attention of Arcana records who subsequently released the 'Uncut' EP in September 2000. Transaudio are also about to release their new 'AT-XS' EP, featuring 'Another Time', 'Excess' and 'Comedown' in March 2002 with a fully fledged Transaudio album set for release near the year-end of 2002. The track 'Comedown' also appeared on the 'Smoke' compilation album in 2001.
    Group Members
After previous endeavours with Dunfermline Rockers 'The Dream Disciples'; Scott Prentice and Stephen McKean formed Transaudio. Allowing Stephen to continue bludgeoning his bass, while Scott decided to sing. The other half of Transaudio equation is Ian Coyle, an untamed guitarist, and Stephen Darroch who knows how to out-psyche a drum-machine.

    Press Reviews
Review of "Smoke: New Sounds From Scotland" extracted from the Sunday Herald, Review Section, 22 July '01. Unfortunately, new Scottish music has traditionally fallen into one of three camps: heartfelt 'celtic' rock: tinny lo-fi sung in accents that only John Peel can be bothered with: or bands who claim to have a wide variety of influences but sound like Travis. And while a good number of the bands on this compilation come under those headings, there are also a few who have managed to create a more exciting sound. Pick of the bunch is the much-feted Transaudio who weigh in with the blistering Comedown. Review of 'Uncut EP' by G. Grant Courtesy of scot-buzz.com "Very good high gloss production from CHEM 19 STUDIOS in Hamilton for this Indie style band with tight off beat drums, swift guitar with wahfuzz riffs and pumping basslines. Smashing backline keyboard cheese runs. Very nice well sung melodic vocals. This band are much better in my opinion than most of the indie bands in the charts today. Four very well constructed catchy songs form this 4 piece band entitled: Stansted, Uncut, Unique and Open"
