Artist History UNDER CONSTRUCTION, PLEASE CHECK AGAIN SOON...Originally SANCTUM relocated to the UK on the back of a deal from Music for Nations in 1995.A single 'Dimensions of the Mind' was released and got a single of the month award in Kerrang! Magazine.Then followed a period of unrest in the SANCTUM camp, whereby three of the four members were kicked out of the country following visa irregularities and the deal with Music for Nations fell through due to financial complications. Sole residing member, Darren Cherry (Vocals/Guitar) set about the mammoth task of putting together a new band. The resulting and current line up was completed in time to record the 'Promised Land Promo' in 1997.'The Promised Land' promo generated enough interest for countless European radio interviews and enabled the band to record their first video at the LWT Studios in London.Label interest, at a time when bands were not being signed in the UK was high and led Sanctum to release the 'absorbed' Promo in late 1998.'absorbed' symbolises artists suffering for their art as the band had to overcome a car accident which caused guitarist Simon Gearhart to switch from left to right handed playing and drummer Tony Holmes had to overcome a life threatening cancer in order to complete 'absorbed'.Bass player Mark Susans says that "'absorbed isa creation that was born of frustration."The band are currently negotiating deals with various labels and are hard at work on the UK gig circuit.
