Artist History Grant Michael Allport performed in a Christian band “Sign” for several years on bass guitar as a teenager. Allport’s love for music led him to purchase a 4 – track recorder, synthesizers, guitars and a drums kit.In his early 20’s a partnership was formed with friend Darren McDougall who together put together a recording studio.Allport’s writing of instrumental music began in the ‘Paxton Square Cottages’ at Burra, South Australia. A Tourist town, known for its copper mines and is an inspiring place to visit. The pair took some equipment on a holiday and the inspiration produced ‘Dawn’.Allport spent eight years composing the music for his debut album while completing the studio. McDougall was the technical partner able to engineer and mix the music. The partnership latterbroke up to pursue own interests.‘The Dream’ was published after ten years in 1996. Allport now composes from his home studio and promotes his music through the Internet.
