Press Reviews Fluf "Waikiki"/MCA Husker Du meets Rocket from the Crypt in this clash of Midwestern and San Diego punk pop -- and the winner is anyone who buys "Waikiki." That's not to say that Fluf's new CD is going to be album of the year -- but "Waikiki" will certainly be a day at the beach for fans of either the dear departed Husker Du or the more contemporary Rocket From the Crypt. There's little doubt who's the main man in Fluf -- the cryptically monickered Otis B. produced the album, wrote the songs, plays guitar and sings. Josh Higgins on bass and Miles Gillett on drums round out the five-year-old band, which sprung from the fertile San Diego '90s scene. "Waikiki" won't change your life, but if you just want to have some punk pop fun, it's definitely worth a try. -- Clay Kallam
