Artist History
In December of 1997, Blessed With Pain was formed with Juan Molina, Shane Truitt, Shawn Ray, and drummer Josh Terven. After playing many shows and recording their first CD, Josh left. Doug Jackson took his place. The music became heavier, more aggressive, faster. Fan support grew fast! Their second CD, SICKER THAN FICTION, was finished in December of 1998. In January 1999, Craig Gaskin joined the band as an additional vocalist to add a new dimension to the music. Now with Juan taking over drums full time, Craig doing lead vocals, and the addition of Guy Loucks (formerly of 454) filling the other guitar slot, Blessed With Pain was hitting the metal community head on and in full strength. Similar influences would be Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura, and SoulFly. On Sunday September 3rd, Guy played his last show with BWP. He was forced to leave due to career advancements. Our eternal brother in Metal, he will be missed by all of us! Now stepping up and taking over lead guitarist is another fabulous player from the area, Jamie Basham. With his strong rhythm and outstanding lead play he is just the right antidote to take BWP into the studio for their 3rd album and their extensive upcoming tour schedule. The band has toured throughout the Midwest and their music is being played on metal shows in the Midwest and the East Coast regions. |
