Artist description Umbersun developed from programming sessions of Defrost and Zane P. in spring 98. After a short time, characteristic voices were found in Ro00, Myg and Ka.The music of Umbersun consists of a mixture of ambientsounds, perverted samples, distorted beats, spoken word cut-ups, weird guitar noises and interesting vocal lines. This eclectic quintet from Basel, St.Gallen and Bern had already created one hell of a live reputation with countrywide gigs and a live radio show on DRS 3. Influences range from Ambient through Trip Hop, and Industrial. They love to break their beats and spice them up with loads of influences. Call it Electronica or Digi-Rock,- we call it Umbersun! The five musicians of Umbersun are all well known in the Swiss music scene. Each of them contributed to various other projects like publishing albums or DJ-ing. Ro00, Defrost, Zane P., Myg, and Ka are the core of the project, but at any time open for the integration of guest musicians and influences from outside. Umbersun now is on the search for a suitable label or a distributor, who is interested in releasing “Modest Pollination”.
