Artist History
Tinkara Kovac, 21, started to sing at 12. Her first major public award was in 1997, when she won the MMS festival. After that she won 4 ''Golden Roosters'', the most prestigious music awards in Slovenia (one as the pop singer of the year and one as the newcomer of the year). In 1999 and 2000 the music journalists elected her as the singer of the year. For her first album "Ne odhaja poletje" (The summer's not Leaving) she was given the Silver award, for her second, "Koscek neba" (A piece of The Sky), published in 1999, she has already received a Gold award. In April 2000 she was awarded four ''Golden Roosters'', i.e. as the performer of the year, for song of the year, the pop album of the year and the best produced album of the year.
