Musical Influences
The The is by far the biggest influence, inspiring to write music which came from the soul. Matt Johnson is the best songwriter in the world today. More recently, I discovered the delights of Spiritualized, whose arrangements are unbelievable, and their sense of space unparalleled. I will nod the head to the various influences of Win, the Nectarine No.9, the Velvet Underground, Lloyd Cole, Propaganda, Love and Money, T-Rex, the Beta Band, and the band they're all calling The Beatles. |

Artist History
Originally a four piece, comprising Fred Chamouret,Arnaud Robinet (now of Glasshopper), Vince Edwards(also now in Glasshopper) and Richard Ings, the project was born out of a common love for experimental guitar music. Sadly, after a year, the break-up came about, but Richard took the songs of the "group with no name", nicked a reference for "Thus Spake Zarathustra", called the project "thenecessarymen" and continued to write and produce the melancholic songs found here. Richard is also involved in a more upbeat project, called R.D.S. (www.mp3.com/R.D.S.) |
