Artist description
Like streams flowing from five directions, the Wailing Strangers are a convergence of styles and sounds: a jazz trumpeter with a passion for banjo and mandolin: a garage rock guitarist whose new songs have acoustic soul: a Celtic penny-whistler pushing old tunes into new shapes: a folk-singing guitar player with a penchant for driving back-up: and a classically trained violinist who keeps backsliding into fiddle tunes. |

Artist History
A blend of solid songwriting, fine instrumental work, and vocal harmonies, the Wailing Strangers began playing music together in 1992 and have two recordings available: Shakin' and Flying to Blue. Though on to other projects and bands, the Strangers still play together from time-to-time, and their music is fresh and strong as ever.. |
