The Simon Picton Band, formed in 1995, combines influences as varied as John Scofield, Arthur Blythe, Albert Collins, Ornette Coleman and Charlie Christian to create a sound which is soulful, swinging and entertaining, yet challenging and forward looking. Artist History
The band, now based in London, was originally formed in Manchester and has performed at leading Jazz Venues across the UK including The Vortex in London, Band on the Wall in Manchester and The Yardbird Suite in Leeds.They have also toured the North West twice. A strong feature of their live performances is their ability to appeal to both seasoned Jazz buffs and non-aficionados alike. |
