1994: In NYC (Sean's hometown), starts off as a ten-piece called the Sergeant Pepper Project, but is eventually whittled down to the only three members who could be arsed to show up for recording sessions. 1995: Sean moves to Pennsylvania, and the absence of the other two members forces him to become a one-man-band.Releases "Radio President" and "Geatland" on small editions of cassettes that circulated among his friends.1996: Sean moves to Beaumont, TX and releases "Fear of Girls", a two-cassette package. No one gives a crap.1997: Sean begins sending demo tapes to various indie labels, and releases the "Voyage of the Damned Pinata" cassette, which contains the infamous "Summer Job".At first, no one gives a crap, until...1998: when Sean releases "Just a Bunch of Confused Kids", and copies begin to circulate around the D.I.Y./hometaper community.People start giving a crap. Positive reviews are published, and a looming Internet presence is developed.1999: Sean releases a number of songs on various D.I.Y. compilations, undergoes the transition from high school to college, and gets his heart broken.He embarks on his first major live performances, starts the Tangerine label, as well as the sporadically published 'zine "Too Broke to Rock".2000: Sean releases his first CD (and sixth album overall), "Little White Truths".Uh, and he gets his own mp3.com site. |
