Press Reviews
PODSTAR "Podstar" (Noisome) From the pages of the CMJ New Music Report, Issue: 659 - Mar 27, 2000 It's quite conceivable that Podstar was separated from the Get Up Kids at birth. This Lawrence, Kansas, foursome plays a similar style of music that is fondly adored and embraced by college radio, yet Podstar is not an emocore band by any stretch of the imagination. On its pop-infused, self-titled debut, the band plays with happy-go-lucky harmonies and downright pretty melodies. Any one of Podstar's songs would work on the soundtrack to a Generation Y date movie. While the band isn't afraid to rock and some of its songs surge with power chords, Podstar is responsible for plenty of sincere moments, as well. -Amy Sciarretto |
