Kocide has been playing their style of music for over four years. In this time, the four members of Kocide have had a unique opportunity to evolve as musicians and challenge mainstream heavy music with their unique song writing. Artist History
Countless shows and two trips to the recording studio have given Kocide the tools necessary to perform to the best of their abilities. Playing at venues such as Club Obsessions, the New Palace Performing Arts Center, Rutgers University, Rowan University, Trenton State College, and PBS Studios, Kocide has drawn many positive reactions from the crowds at their shows. "Their show was so dynamic," says Kristen Morgan of Fate Management Inc., "I've never seen a local crowd that absorbed into a show before." One of Kocide's greatest achievements occurred in the summer of 1999 when they opened for Epic recording artist Jonah Matranga from the band Far. This has proven to have been just one break in what looks to be a promising career. But Kocide has not relied solely on live performances to get their name out. Since the recording of their demos in 1997 and 1999, Kocide has been played on numerous radio stations around the country including 94.1 WYSP (PA), Y100 (PA), Brown University Radio (RI), Maryland University Radio (MD), Rowan University Radio (NJ), Rider University Radio (NJ), Bradley College Radio (IL), Camden County Radio (NJ), and many other underground stations in and around their area. According to James Quirk of Rowan University Radio, Kocide is "one of the best, if not the best band in South Jersey." It is this success that Kocide hopes to bring elsewhere as they seek out shows up and down the east coast. Through hard work and perseverance, Kocide looks to make a name for themselves and reach a larger and more diverse audience. |
