    Artist History
John Omps (a.k.a Johnny Nitro) Played in the Midwest from Wisconsin to Arizona from 1977 - 1987. Johnny was in D.C. Drifters, Mischief, Lickety-Split, Deperate Angel, Jeepers, Blindside, NOTV, and Nightshift. Johnny left the live performing arena for five years. During this time, he wrote and recorded (ala Alesis HD-16 drum machine)over 40 songs. In 1991, John Omps met Gary April - Drums (through a mutual acquaintance and frequent crybaby). Gary asked what it took to prepare a band to play in a nightclub and Johnny said... "I'll show you". First bass player, Dennis Berger (a wonderful human beign and dedicated bassist) and then Kim Workman (probably the best bass player in the Puget Sound Area). Johnny met Mike Lindstrom (Drummer) in 1993 and Mike played with the trio when Gary travelled, but finally Johnny and Mike did their own collection of songs (See NextPage on MP3.com). The South Sound heard these versions of Johnny Nitro for five years. Due to Johnny's business travel demand and some frustrations with Parknson's (diagnosed in 1995 as young onset) Johnny quit playing live, except for jam sessions accross the country in his business travels (Computer Geek). John and Gary are now recording a CD of blues-inspired music and hitting the local jam scene again. Tom Fitzpatric (formerly of the Woodys) has joined Johnny and Gary for rehearsals and live gigs. Tom is not saying whther he'll be the bass player on the next CD or not. We'll watch and wait. In the meantime they band hopes to play at friends houses, jams, and halls this year. Welcome back to your roots!
