Artist description Dear listeners, Thank you very much for visiting what used to be my mp3.com site. I appreciate your interest in my music.Mp3.com has played and integral role in getting my music heard. I have made many connections with many other great artists through mp3.com. I thank them for letting me take part in what once was a friendly, healthy and fun competition for chart position with other musicians on the site. Over the last couple of years, beginning with the advent of the Payback for Playback scheme, which pays artists for each download, the atmosphere on mp3.com has become less pleasant and co-operative. Now, the e-mails I receive from other artists are routinely spam-like requests for visits to their sites, downloads and streaming plays. Potential listeners that I refer to my mp3.com page are wary about whether or not I am only referring them to my page so that I can earn more Payback for Playback money. I don't need to be paid. I do this for the love of it and I don't want people to think that I am just doing it for the money. Mp3.com has recently started 2 more programs. The first is called the Premium Artist Service. This service costs $19.95 US ($31.40 CAD) a month. What this service does is puts the artists name in bold font on the charts, and generally gives the artist preferential treatment when interacting with mp3.com. The second, most recent one is a new scheme beginning in April, where only those artists who have paid the $31.40 CAD a month (nearly $400 CAD a year) are eligible to earn any Payback for Playback.I am not leaving mp3.com because of these two most recent programs. I have decided to move my music because I simply don’t like the atmosphere here anymore and I also feel that there is really no point to promoting mp3.com through my artist page because I can sense that it's not going to be long until they are featured on FuckedCompany.com anyway.
