Artist description
3 piece powerhouse led by legendary New York bandleader and baritone guitar player, Andy Schneider. Resting on ambient textures and fat bass grooves to deliver their often hazy trip-pop message, Andy's band, Xx forges into yet unexplored sonic regions - usually wielding only acoustic instruments. The band propels its influences such as Beck and Massive Attack, as well as a combined 25 year experience (and several dozen album credits) to dredge a deep groove in the pop landscape. The core of the band is Andy Schneider's hollowbody baritone guitar, a heavyweight hybrid of bass and standard guitar. He provides thick bass grooves and Charlie Hunter-like organ accompaniments. |

Artist History
Xx made its debut in the indie fan mag, Pop Culture Press. PCP featured the band's track "Robert’s Parkbench" on its Spring 99 sampler CD. Within weeks the band began work on a multi-album arrangement with Austin's Journey West Records. Their first full length release, The Life and Loves of Mr. Jiveass Honkey, is a nine song hot plate of steaming grooves, dripping with dub-style production. |

Press Reviews
Unflappable rap styles rest comfortably on funkier-than-thou grooves and laid back hip-hop beats. With more love than G. has to offer and a spicier version of the original special sauce, Xx will have you chugging water like your head's on fire.- LISTEN.COM |
