Artist description
Emo-core. Heck, I don't know what to call it. Imagine powerful, emotional singing, with power, style and energy and not a little bit of rightous, pissed off anger. Soft spots, hard spots and a knack for writing songs that flow. At least that was what we were trying to do. |

Artist History
Aaron and Mike started Kingfisher in 1995 in Mike's basement. There were a few shows with Mike singing and Darrell Hyde, of Boy Sets Fire, on bass and a demo cut with just the three of us. After a while Darrell couldn't afford the time so we stopped playing out, as it was just the two of us. About 4 months later, Pat joined and we found Robb to play bass. When Pat joined the whole sound changed, from Hardcore/Metal to a more Emo/Punk sound, more emphasis on writing songs with a flow, that tell a story. Pat doesn't write lyrics, he writes a story, and we changed the music to complete the pictures he's singing about. We played several shows in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Ohio as a four-piece through 1996 and 1997 and then recorded "Theme Music for a Riot". In the spring of 1997, Matt joined and we moved practice from Maryland to Pennsylvania, played a few more shows and then, at the end of 1998, we split up. Mike moved to Oregon and 2 years later so did Pat. Right now, Pat and Mike are mulling over starting Kingfisher up again in Portland, Oregon. We'll see what happens next... |
