Artist History
The first inception came together when I met with 2 of the best friends I would ever have. Matt, Randy and I called ourselves the Chickens and we made some horrendous noise but managed to make some pretty decent songs as well. Ultimately, though, we went the way of most bands and broke up.
For the next 3 years I kept myself busy by writing songs and recording them on whatever I had handy which included a cheap karaoke machine, a minidisc recorder, a four track tape recorder, and finally a computer (I love multitrack hard disk recording!!!)
On Jan. 1 2000, I thought I would be ready to unleash an album on the unsuspecting music scene of Bakersfield. I had a cd recorder and a huge stack of blank cds but at the last minute I chickened (pun intended) out. I just didn't feel like the songs we ready. Too under-developed and bad sound quality. I didn't want to do anything half-assed so I just handed out copies to friends to get opinions on it.
Here I am now two years later and I am on the verge of an actual release. I have been slowly writing and recording for the last 2 years and I have a nice collection of songs to choose from (22 to be exact) that I will use to put together a cd of 18 songs. I have songs dating back all the way to 1998 when I was with the Chickens and some songs from my first "release" in 2000. They all have been redone with my home recording setup and sound fantastic.
Now the band Faceless Candy is ready. Make sure to tune into Krab because as soon I have the cd ready for release (April, May 2002) I have a slot on local rock rumble and you can check the newest incarnation of the band coming to places such as Jerry's Pizza, Jelly's, Vinnie's, The Gate and hopefully many more places. |
