Artist description
Coming from the unknown town of Bozeman, Montana, the band known as Epagee has only begun to scratch the surface of the world of music. Their combination of heavy bass driven melodies encompassed with full vocal intensity and an impressive live show have gained them a name throughout their home state. The music of Epagee cannot easily be described as it includes elements of metal, hip-hop, funk, and pop, which are blended together to create a sound which is truly original. The diverse musical backgrounds of Epagee are a major factor of their unique style; each member has something different to offer to the music while all of the members share a common musical goal. The band is six members strong and is fronted by singers Gigs Herbert and Reon Staggs. Instrumentation includes Bal Blizzard on bass guitar, Beaner Maxson on six-string, DJ B-Nut on turntables, and Mike Lint playing the drums. |

Artist History
While Epagee has played together for more then 2 years, their history begins before that, with the band Lint.
Formed in May of 1999, Lint was originally composed of only Bal, Mike, and Beaner with Bal and Mike doing the singing. After deciding to focus all of their energies into their respective instruments, Gigs was inducted in October to take over the vocal helm. The band performed a number of successful live shows around Bozeman and in November, DJ B-Nut was asked to join. Soon after, Lint caught the attention of the singer for local band, Krunk and Reon was added to the line up. The band was then complete and decided that a new name was needed for a fresh start.
In January of 2000, Epagee was born and continued to play successful shows around Montana. After building up a name for themselves, the band was asked to open for former Pixies front man, Frank Black and his new band the Catholics, playing for 700-plus college students. This gig was what the band needed to secure their position as Montana’s premier hardcore band and has since, only moved forward. Epagee's other recent successes include scoring a spot at the Van's Warped Tour’s Bozeman stops in 2000 and 2001, taking first place at the Gallatin Valley Battle of the Bands in 2000, sharing the stage with such bands as Dust for Life, Five Foot Thick, and Eli-Stone, and being included on the soundtrack for the snowboard video, "99 Sense.”
Epagee continues to pack bars around Montana and is branching out into other states in the Northwest. They are currently promoting their first CD release, …Or The Girl Dies, which is carried on the small record label, Pimpin’ and Nines Records. The CD is a varied mix of musical styles and truly captures the emotion and energy of Epagee’s live show. The lyrics of the songs of …Or The Girl Dies, deal with everyday subjects that most people can relate to such as love, hate, greed, and getting a fresh start on life. The band plans to stay in Montana for another year to tour part time and promote their album before moving to the East coast to live and tour full time. |
