Press Reviews
Betsy Holm isn't one to make a lot of noise. The singer/songwriter has been quietly going about her business for the last several years, penning material and occasionally playing acoustic shows around town. But her most noticeable performance has been singing on car commercials. It's a shame. Holm's lilting voice shouldn't be locked behind jingles, and her material is meant for more than a select few. Sure, the female-folkie schtick has been done, everyone from Sheryl Crow to Paula Cole pasting their hearts on their guitars. And Holm's top-down-and-cruising rock is as familiar as McDonald's. But when she straps on her guitar and revs up her pipes, Holm is a petite powerhouse. Jeff Inman (inman@lasvegasweekly.com) |
