    Artist description
The binarygods combine pop like melody focussed choruses with heavy guitar and driving rythym.Overall, the band has a style and sound similar to that of the Deftones or NIN(without the electronica). Combine this with a vocalist that sounds like a cross between Dave Mustane(Megadeath), Perry Farell(Jane's Addiction/Porno for Pyros) and Billy Corgan(Smashing Pumpkins), and you should reasonably describe the sound of the binarygods.

    Artist History
In early 1993 vocalist Bill Dunlop and guitarist Murray Uncles started co-writing songs under the name -i confess-. The two continued writing material for almost two years with Bill playing the bass and programming the drums on a DR550. In 1995, the two met bass player Barry Tezuka, and and offered him a job in -i confess- . 6 months later guitarist Eric Wright decided to join the band after being asked on several occasions. The band spent six months working with accomplished drummer John Barns, before opting to use session drummers, and drum machines when John left to pursue other interests . It was at this point that the band adopted the name binarygods. The band is currently rehearsing for live shows, and plans on releasing the 8 bit jesus EP August 15, 2000.

...IndieFest's real surprise was the opening act (the binarygods), virtual unknowns on the scene, who more than warmed up the large crowd with a very original brand of heavy, yet melody drenched, music....I imagine that many fans of the Toronto indie scenewill fall in love with these guys.
