    Artist History
AVULSED was born in January 1992 as a trio when Dave Rotten (Vocals), Toni (Drums) and Lucky (Bass) decided to form a Death Metal band in spite of their total lack of experience. Three months later the 1st guitarist called Luisma joined the band and in September of the same year, the band recorded its first demo entitled "Embalmed In Blood" with only two songs. One month later, a 2nd guitarist entered the band and his name is "Cabra". This was the very first important step for the band, as "Cabra" was the only one who was able to handle his instrument in a proper way.In April '93 was the time to play the 1st shows for the band and it was supporting CANCER when the band lost its virginity on stage. A week later, the second demo "Deformed Beyond Belief" was recorded containing five songs and a huge development compared to the previous effort. In June, two new songs were recorded for a compilation CD/LP/MC called "Dead Flesh Compilation" featuring two unreleased tracks from five Spanish acts. In September, a Greek label offered the band to release their 2nd demo as a Split 12"LP with also Greek ACID DEATH. This came out in January '94. But prior to that, in December '93, the band entered the studios again to record their 7"EP for German M.M.I. Rec. entitled Carnivoracity". This was the very last recording for Toni who was replaced by Furni (ex-INTOXICATION). Later, in June '94, Luisma was kicked out of the band due to his egocentric attitude and mainly because he was a pathetic guitar player. His place was immediately taken over by Juancar (ex-SACROPHOBIA) who is a great guitarist and has the same level as Cabra. Now with a new drummer and two competent guitarists, the band is able to write much better stuff with hardly any limitations. In March 1995 the band decided to enter the studios again to record a two-song promo-tape to let people hear how the new stuff was going to sound like. Reactions were enthusiastic and even a video-clip was filmed with the song 'Powdered Flesh'. In June of the same year, the "Carnivoracity" EP was re-released by Repulse Records as a Mini-CD format with 8 live bonus tracks.Italian label Cryptic Soul Prod. offered the band to take part in a small Italian Tour along with VADER & DERANGED in January '96 and also put the band on Tour through Europe with SINISTER right after that. After the tour, the band finished the last songs for the recording of their very 1st full-length album Eminence In Putrescence" on Repulse Records. It was recorded in May and the 1st mix was done in June by a Dutch engineer, but the result wasn't satisfactory, so the band decided to do a 2nd mixing by themselves in September. The album came out in November, but one month before that, the original bass-player was forced to leave the band due to personal reasons and a replacement was found two months later on Iván. 1997 was the time for a 2nd European tour, this time with all-label-mates INCANTATION, DEEDS OF FLESH & ADRAMELECH. The tour was called REPULSIVE TOUR '97. One month before that, AVULSED opened for CRADLE OF FILTH, which meant the biggest live-audience for the band at the moment and in the best place of Madrid. After the tour, the band got the chance to make some special re-mixes of some of the album tracks. This was destined to be the 'Cybergore' a self-financed experiment (with the help of Repulse Rec.) where the band mixes Cyber/Techno with Death Metal. This CD finally saw the light in March '98. In May, the band was supposed to go on tour through US (West-Coast) & Mexico enlarged through Chile, Argentina & Uruguay, but the sudden decease of INFAMY's bass/vocalist Josh, who was taking care of the US shows, forced the band to cancel the whole idea. During the summer '98, the band decided to part ways with their bass player Ivan and in September drummer Furni decided to leave the band to concentrate on playing guitar in other musical projects. However, he's still helping the band on live performances until the new one is able to do it by himself in a proper way. So far 5 drummers were tested but none was chosen, so both parts decided that the best thing was to have Furni back on the band. A new bass player was found in the person of Tana (ex-MISTRESS). In November 21st the band played their biggest show in front of 5.000 people on the 2nd BARBARIAN ROCK FESTIVAL sharing stage with such bands like MANOWAR, NAPALM DEATH, CRADLE OF FILTH, HAMMERFALL, S.A. and tons of other bands. Just after to record their long awaited 2nd. album, the band did a gig together with SIX FEET UNDER, VADER, CRYPTOPSY, NILE & ENSVALED in Belgium. The band recorded their 2nd. album 'Stabwound Orgasm' at Spacelab Studios (Germany) in June '99. The tapes were mastered by James Murphy in CaliforniaThe next plans for the band is a small tour of 8-9 dates in August through Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador & Panamá!!
