Artist History
Moscow - resided band ABSURD began its life in the year of 1996. In search of the music style to follow to, the band has decided to play quite aggressive but also melodic Swedish death metal. The first album called “Senselessness Of Existence“ was recorded by original line-up, including vocalist/bassist Dmitry Vasin and guitarist/drums programmer Victor Chertkhov. Second guitar player Segrey Titov joined the band shortly after the record and brought some fresh ideas in the process of songwriting.First live shows were performed with drum machine because it was quite hard to find a drummer of appropriate level. In 1998 this problem was solved with help of Alexander Apashkhin, who came to take the chair of drummer and to become the fourth member of the band. In this line-up the band started to work on new material. During fall of ’98 the band releases new album “Frostland”, which includes band’s own material and one cover-version of respective Swedish band DISMEMBER. In support for the new album the band plays several live shows in Moscow clubs. In the beginning of 1999 ABSURD releases live EP, recorded at “FARVATER” club during the “Hell Frost” festival action. In March 2000 new recorded promo-album "Beyond the Dawn" have reached the ears of Moscow metalheads. This promo received quite good reviews from Moscow metal press. |
