Artist History
The days of slugging it out from one bar to another are behind them now, but Chris Knowles and Rob Nickerson are still proving that once you got the bug you can't get completely free of it. The Thunder Bay duo front a band called Stiff Upper Lip and have released a new CD called "Sonic Fallout", the follow up to 1997's "Monster Box". The new disc was recorded during various sessions between Jan. '97 and Oct. '99 at Protrax Studio in Thunder Bay. The material was once again produced by Rob and Chris, combining diverse influences and an aggressive sound with depth and growth in the songwriting and production. The duo play the majority of instruments themselves, with help from a variety of musician friends. Knowles and Nickerson first crossed paths as youngsters and played music together through high school before touring extensively throughout Canada in the 80's with the band "Rival". They hooked up again in '94 and immediately began writing songs. Currently they are shopping for a record/publishing deal as well as writing and recording material for a 3rd CD. |
