Artist History HOLLIE POOLE From early on it was apparent that Hollie was an entertainer. I can't ever remember not wanting to perform. When I was three, I asked for an electric guitar, luckily, my Father had an old acoustic guitar he let me drag around wherever I went. By the age of seven I had learned how to play that guitar. At the age of ten, Hollie performed for the first time at a County Fair. She brought the house down with renditions of such classics as The Beatles "I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends" and Kansas' "Dust In the Wind." Hollie a versatile musician plays the harmonica, bass and drums. During an early college performance, Hollie opened for a then unknown band from South Carolina called Hootie and the Blowfish. In college, Hollie began to concentrate on songwriting and now original material dominates the set list of her band. In Nashville, Hollie's versatile songwriting has been rewarded by a Shedaisy album "The WHole Shebang" cut, 'Cause I like It That Way", a remix of the same song on "The Whole SHebang, All Mixed Up" on Lyric Street Records, and a single for Sony Canada Entertainment's Tara Lynn Hart, entitled, "Mine All Mine". Recently, "Mine All Mine", co-written with Krysten Osborn, of Shedaisy,(and also a single for the group), was included in the Soundtrack of the hit movie, "Sweet Home Alabama". Musically and lyrically, Hollie's influences include folk, rock, funk, blues, and jazz. Hollie's vocal style ranges from the bold brashness of rock blues singer, Bonnie Raitt, to the sultry crooning of Billy Holiday--add all of these elements together and you have a unique singer/songwriter, performing with a depth and honesty representing a new dynamic vocal force in modern rock music today.
